SONDORS Cruiser e-bike (Photos credit for all images: DOC) SONDORS LX, Cruiser, & Rockstar So while some of these models are just now starting to show up on reservation holders’ doorsteps, all four bikes were new to us as we took our first look at the latest models. While the SONDORS LX and Cruiser step-through models have just started shipping, the Rockstar electric mountain bike and MadMods electric moped won’t ship until later this winter and spring, respectively. The bikes were originally unveiled throughout the summer and fall of 2019, a chaotic period in the e-bike industry when the COVID-19 pandemic was causing huge delays in production. On a sunny Los Angeles morning earlier this week, Electrek team member David O’Connell (aka DOC) met up with SONDORS product director Matt Irish to check out the new e-bikes.įour shiny new electric bikes were laid out before a mix of trails and tarmac. The bike itself is very good, I'm disappointed with customer service for taking so long for an important issues (to me).Electric bicycle company SONDORS has been busy over the last six months, unveiling a handful of new e-bikes and rushing them into production. Oh well, at least they are sending me parts, which they should anyway.
In a nutshell, they are sending me a couple parts, but not addressing the damages to my bike or my wall. This is after being notified via email that someone from tech will reach out to me in 1-2 days. I contacted Sondors customer service via their site, and it took them 11 days to get back to me. Just imagine a car gas pedal that gets stuck and you can't stop, and brakes that fail. Both of these issues are very dangerous for riders, and can cause serious injuries or even worse. There were also missing C-clips for the brake calipers. **On edit** I had a defective throttle that caused my bike to accelerate, uncontrollably, crashing into my house wall, causing damage to both the bike and the wall. Not perfect, but happy with the end result.
Opening the box and going through everything, I had figure some things out because some parts fell off, probably during shipping, but those things were scattered in the bottom of the box, thank goodness. Would have been faster if UPS shipped it right away. I cancelled my LX order, got a refund, then ordered a supernova Rockstar. So I checked the Sondors site and saw that the SuperNova and Black Rockstars were in-stock and available for immediate shipping.
I inquired again and was then notified that my LX was now pushed back to May. That date came and went, and I was notified (after I contacted Sondors) that the date was pushed back to mid to late March. Delivery date was for mid to late February 2022. I ordered a Sondors LX back in November of 2021, paid in full. Hopefully my situation can be resolved quickly and that the product delivers as promise. But I am concern of the quality because for what I read on the internet, there are other users that had the same problem, on them in Youtube mentioned that he had to wait months for his new bike to replaced. Overally my experience has not been great, I cant really talk about the product because I havent been able to use it. I just dont understand how can you launch a product and do not have the necessary information for your customers. I was able to find information on youtube from other users.

Lastly I think it is pretty bad that bike arrived also with no manual, no document to go to the website and download it nothing!!! I searched on the Sondors website and I couldnt find a users manual. I feel like it should have beeen prioritized. That is so dissapointing specially as I mentioned I had to wait months to use my bike. I tried following up and I got a response that it could take weeks for my fork to arrive. This happened on Mar 18th, up to now, I havent received my replacement fork or a tracking number. It followed by telling me I was going to receive a new fork on the mail as soon as they can, no date no nothing.

I reached out to Customers Service and what I didnt like was the response, the customer service rep just asked me for my serial number, no apology for what happened, nothing, felt that was not very customer service oriented. IT was very dissapointing specially that I waited months for it to arrive, but I understand these things can happen. I received my bike Rockstar damaged and with a broken fork.
